8 Things To Note In Your City Gas Set-Up Application For Your Home
While this process is rather straightforward, you might have a few burning questions and considerations before you take action. Let’s answer them for you!
1) Is There A Security Deposit Needed?
No, there is no security deposit needed to be placed specifically with City Gas. You will only need to place a security deposit when you apply for your utility account with SP Services. Go here to learn more about the security deposit rates for your SP Services utility account.

It will take around 4 working days once your online appointment is processed.
3) What Is The Procedure To Turn On My Gas Supply?

4) What If I Have An Emergency Once My Supply Is Turned On? (Gas leak, supply interruption and low pressure)
If you have an emergency situation, you can immediately call City Gas’s 24-hour emergency hotline at 1800-752-1800.

7) What’s The Difference Between City Gas’s Piped Town Gas vs LPG Cylinder Gas?
While you could select LPG cylinder gas for your supply, it might be better to opt for piped town gas as it is:
- Safer due to its low-pressure properties, allowing it to dissipate freely into the atmosphere.
- It is better for the environment (lesser carbon dioxide emissions) than using electricity.
- It is reliable and convenient. Your gas supply requires no storage and will be continuous even if there is an electricity outage or blackout.
